John Deere to Recall 60+ Workers To Waterloo This Fall

John Deere has announced they’re bringing back more than 60 workers to its Waterloo operations this fall.   The company announced the recall in a statement Friday, saying the workers will help address employee attrition, meet customer demand and build dealer inventory as part of long-term operational planning.  The move comes after several rounds of layoffs of John Deere workers across the Midwest over the past year.

The UAW voted last month to reject John Deere’s proposal for a two-year contract extension through 2029.  The company says around 900 employees have been brought back across Iowa and Illinois since January.
