Two Arrested After Shots Fired in Waterloo

Waterloo police arrested two people after gunfire rang out near West Second Street and Western Avenue on Tuesday. Witnesses said they saw someone firing a weapon before running away. Detectives from the Violent Crime Apprehension Team were already nearby working on a separate weapons investigation. They found the suspect shortly after the shooting and pulled the person over. He was caught without incident. A 17-year-old Waterloo male was charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent and minor in possession of a firearm. 20-year old Jonathan Elliot Jr., of Waterloo, was charged with interference with official acts with a firearm.
