Black Hawk County Primary Election Results Verified After Audit

Black Hawk County’s post-election audit confirmed that voting machines accurately counted ballots in the June 2nd Primary Election, according to the Black Hawk County auditor. County officials conducted the required audit June 4th. Auditor Karen Showalter said the hand count matched the election night results from the voting machines perfectly. Iowa law requires the Secretary of State to randomly select a precinct in each county the day after an election. County auditors then supervise a hand count of votes at that precinct and compare the results to machine totals.
