The Board of Directors of Valley Lutheran School in Cedar Falls has fired 6-12th grade principal Lucas Tanney, effective immediately. Tanney has been charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee and grooming. The board made the decision after reviewing new information that came to light following an earlier statement. Board members determined immediate action was necessary and in the best interests of students, families, staff and the school community.
As for Tanney, he is free on bond and is scheduled for a court hearing next Thursday in Waterloo.
