The new owners of the Mall at College Square held a public open house at the mall Friday night in Cedar Falls, as part of their grand re-opening. The mall parking lot was full of guests and patrons who came inside, to walk through, relive and reminisce on their memories from the mall. Mall spokesman Chris Jung says there’s still a lot of interest from prospective business owners.
Jung says several new businesses have located there, including the Iowa Woo Arena League team store, and an ice cream shop in the former Baskin-Robbins shop of several years ago. The theatre area was not open due to its condition after the company left, but Jung says there’s ample opportunity for more family entertainment. Jung says right now, the goal is to get more local shops in the mall.
Cedar Falls Mayor Danny Laudick says this is very much needed for the city.
Laudick says it’s a great investment in the city as well.
