Utah State reportedly hiring UNI men’s basketball coach Ben Jacobson

Sources have told ESPN reporters Pete Thamel and Jeff Borzello that UNI men’s basketball coach Ben Jacobson is finalizing a five-year deal to become the next head coach at Utah State.

Jacobson has been UNI’s head coach the past 20 years and taken the Panthers to the NCAA Tournament five times, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2010 that included an upset of 1-seed Kansas.

Jacobson is a five time Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year and ranks first in program history with 397 career wins.
