Rose Ann Eick, 84, Waterloo

Rose Ann Eick, 84, of Waterloo, died Monday, March 16, 2026, at Pinnacle Specialty Care. She was born June 23, 1941, in Jesup, daughter of Roy and Nellie (Wells) Hart. Rose Ann graduated from East Waterloo High School. After high school she worked for Rath Packing Company, and later as a clerk for the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program,
Rose Ann married Lloyd Eick on February 27, 1960, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage and raised three children.
She was a talented crafter. Whether painting, or needle work like knitting, crocheting and cross-stitch, she could master anything. She made afghans for her grandchildren, doll clothes, and anything else she set her mind to. Rose Ann also was a talented gardener. She enjoyed visiting arts and crafts stores. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandkids and great grandkids, always looking out for their nutrition as a result of her career with WIC.
Rose Ann is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd; her sons Ryon (Cathie) Eick of Pisgah, and Kevin (Eileen) Eick of Pella; daughter Dawn (Adam) Jones of Altoona; grandchildren: Dustin (Becca) Eick, Christopher (Rachel) Eick, Travis (Autumn) Eick, Taylor (Charlotte) Eick, and Nathan Jones; great-grandchildren: Hailey, Memphis, Auria, and Avery, Neelie and Maevie, and Emma, Ava, Henry, Hudson, and Jack Eick; and siblings John Hart, James (Sharilyn) Hart, Marilyn Dolph, and Cheryl (Charles) Conkling. She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be a memorial gathering on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, with a Memorial Service starting at 3:00 PM. Condolences may be left at www.LockeFuneralServices.com
