Nancy A. Amunson, 76, Clarksville

Nancy Ann (Eckhoff) Amunson was born August 15th, 1949 in Waterloo, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harry and Lucille (Wubbena) Eckhoff.

Nancy was raised on the family farm south of Allison and attended Allison-Bristow High School graduating in 1967. Upon graduation, she worked at Shield Bantam in Waverly, Iowa until March of 1968. She made her career in banking for 44 years at the Bank in Allison, Iowa.

Nancy married Dale Amunson in 1975 at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison and moved to Clarksville, Iowa following her marriage. To this union their son, Erik, was born in 1981. A highlight of her life was Erik’s marriage to Angela Meyer of Wayland, Iowa and subsequently the birth of Grandchildren Alexa and Ryker Amunson of Swisher, Iowa. Nancy was very active in her Grandchildren’s lives. She enjoyed attending their School and Church activities and would go out of her way to spend time with them. Nancy and Dale spent many weeks at their Cottage at Lake Cornelia by Belmond, Iowa having first boated there in the early 1990’s and later purchasing property there. Nancy and Dale also enjoyed going to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida and later to Orange Beach, Alabama in the winter and made several friends there.

Nancy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville and was a member of the Altar Guild and Co-Chair of the funeral kitchen committee for many years. Nancy and Dale developed many close friendships over the years including Card Club and just getting together for impromptu Coffee & Social Hours. This included friends from Clarksville, Belmond, and Florida/Alabama vacations.

Nancy is survived by her Husband Dale; son Erik (Angela) Amunson and grandchildren Alexa and Ryker Amunson. Siblings Cheryl (Jerry) Manning, Richard (Barb) Eckhoff, Tom (Chris) Eckhoff, Sister in Law Wanita Eckhoff, and Sister Jolene Orser, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, and one brother James Eckhoff.

Nancy passed from this Earth on Friday, February 27th, 2026 and leaves behind the memories of many good times in many places.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, at the Redman Funeral & Cremation Services in Clarksville and one hour prior to services at the church.
