Webster “Mantan” Andrews Jr., 67, of Waterloo, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
He was born on January 17, 1958, in Waterloo, to the union of Webster Sr., and Genevieve Andrews, and was lovingly raised by Robert and Versie McDowell.
He went to school in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, where he graduated from Price Lab. After graduating, he joined the United States Army. Upon returning home from the Army, he held various jobs – working for the City of Waterloo, Rath Packing Co., as a union organizer for IBP, and in the nursing field.
His love for his family, extended family, and friends, was beyond measure. He loved life, his family, music, dancing, and fishing.
Webster leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Marchell Philip Andrews; his children, Tangela Andrews Palacio, Damion Andrews, Webster Andrews Jr. II, Denise Renee Andrews, Nicolai Andrews, and Kyle Andrews; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 28 siblings; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Webster Sr. and Genevieve Andrews; and his parents who raised him, Robert and Versie McDowell.
A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., with private burial at Fairview Cemetery, both in Waterloo.
