Absentee Ballot Numbers High For Upcoming City Runoff Elections

The runoff elections in Waterloo and Cedar Falls’ Ward three are heating up in advance of election day on Tuesday, December 2nd,.  A report by the Black Hawk County election office shows 2,341 voters requested an absentee ballot for Tuesday’s election.  As of Wednesday morning, 2,270 have been returned.  That leaves just 71 needing to be returned by Tuesday night,  at 8PM, to count toward the races, featuring the Waterloo Mayor’s race and for the Ward 1 council seat, and for the race for Cedar Falls Ward 3 Council seat.   By comparison, over 2,700 absentee ballots were tallied in the November 4th election.
