High School Football State Championship results + day 2 schedule

High school football state championship games began yesterday at the UNI-Dome with four games taking place.

In 8-Man,

Bishop Garrigan rallied from a 36-14 deficit late in the third quarter to stun Woodbine, 44-42.

In Class A,

Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn-Remson Union downed Saint Ansgar, 30-17.

In Class 1A,

West Lyon outlasted Iowa City Regina in overtime, 34-27.

In Class 4A,

Cedar Rapids Xavier rolled past Pella, 31-6.

Class 2A Championship — Van Meter (10-2) vs. Keumper Catholic (12-0) @ 10:00 a.m.

Class 3A Championship — Nevada (10-2) vs. Bishop Heelan (10-2) @ 1:00 p.m.

Class 5A Championship — Iowa City Liberty (11-1) vs. Dowling Catholic (11-1) @ 7:00 p.m.
