North Butler Schools Place New PPEL Levy On November Ballot

PPEL Levy in March Rejected

The North Butler Community School District is again asking its residents to support a new PPEL levy next month. The school board voted in September to call for a new election on the PPEL, and again are asking for $1.34 per $1,000 assessed property value. Last March, 58 percent of the district’s voters rejected the levy proposal.  Superintendent Bryan Boysen.

If it’s approved this time, the levy would go into effect in fiscal year 2027, and be in effect for ten years.  Boysen explains the money would go toward repairs and improvements to the district’s school buildings in Allison and Greene, as well as technology upgrades.

Boysen says he’s hoping this time the voters will approve the levy.

The measure needs a 50 percent majority to pass.
