Teen Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Car in Cedar Falls

An 18-year old is recovering from serious injuries after being struck by a car in Cedar Falls Friday night.  Cedar Falls Police say it happened just after 11PM when a northbound Nissan Altima struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk at the intersection of Hudson Road and West 27th Street.  Police say the pedestrian was initially taken to a local hospital, but then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City for treatment of severe injuries. No names have been released and an investigation is continuing. Mercy One Paramedics, the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Department, University of Northern Iowa Department of Public Safety, and Black Hawk County Dispatch assisted with this incident.
