Frank R. Miller, 79, Aplington

Frank Russell Miller, age 79, of Aplington, Iowa, was born the son of Jim and Betty (Allison) Miller, on November 9, 1945, at his home in Parkersburg.  He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1964.  During his high school years, Frank excelled in playing football and also worked at Palmers Grocery Store in Parkersburg.

Frank was united in marriage with Joyce Uhlenhopp, and to this marriage two children were born, Cindy and Stacy.  The couple later divorced.

On October 18, 1985, Frank married Linda Uhlenhopp in Nashua.  Frank worked various jobs throughout the years: John Deere for 12 years, Stokley USA and Walmart.  Frank retired in 2023.

Frank enjoyed trapping, fishing and going out to coffee with his friends.  He loved to travel and every fall he enjoyed going to the apple orchard. Frank was a very loving and caring person.

On Friday, September 5, 2025, Frank passed away at MercyOne – Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Betty Miller; a son-in-law, Warren Beattie; four brothers, Carroll Miller, Bob Miller, Gene Miller and Jim Miller; and two sisters, Laverda and Sally DeVries.

Frank is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda of Aplington; four children, Cindy (Allen) Renken of Decorah, Iowa, Stacy Beattie of Des Moines, Iowa, Randy Weiland of Parkersburg, Iowa, and Tiffany (Mike) Walters of Dumont, Iowa; six grandchildren, Kyle Renken, Brandon, Haley and Tessa Stevens, Stacia (Chris Thein) Walters, and Stephen (Tasha) Walters; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Pabst of Grundy Center, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Bethel Reformed Church, with burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery, both in rural Aplington.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Redman Funeral & Cremation Services – Aplington Chapel in Aplington, and one hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
