Glen N. Nyman, 91, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Bickford Senior Living under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice.
He was born on January 25, 1934, in Leith, North Dakota the son of Arthur L. and Betty M. (Anderson) Nyman.
Glen married Joan Smith in Albert Lea, Minnesota on April 4, 1953. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2014. He worked at John Deere Waterloo for 30 years, retiring in 1985 and was a member of UAW Local 838.
Glen is survived by six children; Laurie (Ken) Lubbert of Dike, Randy (Pam) Nyman of Waterloo, Susan (Clark) Tally of Olathe, Kansas, Lisa (Steve) Backer of Holland, Iowa, Nancy (Kent) Troyer of Shawnee, Kansas, and Mike (Wendy) Nyman of Cedar Falls; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four siblings Ron (Dee) Nyman of Fort Myers, Florida, Terry (Patty) Swenson of Surprise, Arizona, Julie Tidemann of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and Lynn (Jodie) Swenson of Albert Lea, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandson Matthew Nyman, one infant granddaughter Valentine Tally, one sister Dorothy (Marven) Askildson, and brother-in-law Jerry Tidemann.
Family will receive friends on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00AM, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, with funeral service starting at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Waterloo Cemetery.
