University of Northern Iowa head men’s basketball coach Ben Jacobson will remain in Cedar Falls for the immediate future.
Jacobson has agreed to a new five year rolling contract.
Jacobson is the all-time winningest coach in school history, and a five-time Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year. He’ll be beginning his 20th season at the helm of the program.
The Panthers have captured four MVC regular season championships – 2009, 2010, 2020, and 2022 – and four conference tournament titles in 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2016. The Panthers have nine postseason appearances with Jacobson at the helm, including four trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2009, 2010, and 2015 and 2016, three appearances in the National Invitational Tournament (2012, 2022, and 2025), and two CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT) berths in 2011 and 2013.
Jacobson’s 374 all-time wins with the Panthers are second only to Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Coach Henry P. Iba in the 119-year history of the MVC.
